Pilates

Pilates improves strength, flexibility, muscle tone, balance, posture and alignment. It can also play an important role in injury rehabilitation, preventing and treating back pain, looking after the body during pregnancy, preparing for childbirth and postnatally.

We have a small, friendly, relaxed fully equipped Pilates studio with reformer, cadillac/tower, wundachair, ladder barrel and spine corrector which welcomes all levels from beginner to advanced. Our Pilates teachers are highly qualified and have additional qualifications in injury rehabilitation and bone health. Our teachers are also specially trained to work with pregnant or postnatal clients. We work one to one with the client, and, unlike many studios, you will be the only client and your teacher the only teacher in the studio for the duration of your class, giving you complete privacy.

When appropriate, our teachers work closely with Kevin Bell, the osteopath, to provide bespoke rehabilitation exercise programs.

The Benefits of Pilates

Discover how Pilates can transform your body and mind. Whether you're new to movement or looking to deepen your practice, Pilates offers a host of powerful benefits:

Strengthen Your Core

Pilates targets the deep abdominal muscles, helping you build a strong, stable core—essential for posture, balance, and everyday movement.

Improve Posture and Alignment

By focusing on precise, controlled movement, Pilates helps correct poor posture and supports a healthy spine, reducing strain and discomfort.

Enhance Flexibility

Gentle stretching and lengthening exercises improve flexibility, increase your range of motion, and help your body move more freely.

Boost Muscle Tone

Develop lean, toned muscles without adding bulk. Pilates sculpts the entire body through low-impact, resistance-based movement.

Relieve Stress and Tension

With an emphasis on mindful breathing and concentration, Pilates helps calm the nervous system and reduce stress levels.

Prevent Injury

Pilates strengthens and balances the body, helping to prevent common injuries by improving joint stability and muscular symmetry.

Aid Rehabilitation

Safe and adaptable, Pilates is often recommended by physiotherapists and osteopaths as part of a recovery or injury prevention plan
